Dos Hombres announced today the worldwide release for their highly-anticipated iPhone application, Pen Pals™. The app went on sale today exclusively on the App Store. Touted as the “iPhone’s best friend,” Pen Pals is a fun and exciting new social networking application that automatically connects users with new friends from all over the world. “With this release, we’re turning the old concept of Pen Pals on its head, and upgrading it to the 21st century for the iPhone and iPod Touch,” Dos Hombres’ Frank Wilson said today – “Simply put, making new friends has never been easier.”
Until today, Dos Hombres have kept details of their first iPhone app under tight wraps. “With nearly 200,000 apps currently available on the App Store, we knew our first app had to be something special, something that stood out,” Dos Hombres’ Bryan Johnson stated. “At the same time, we knew we couldn’t rush this app to market because we wanted it to be as close to perfect as possible.” Bryan points to the user-interface design of Pen Pals as an example, “It’s simple and intuitive, but quite different from the standard look of most iPhone apps, and that was very important to us. It was just one more thing to help our app stand out from the rest.”
Frank continues, “Pen Pals is the result of some serious dedication by our team of talented designers and programmers. And we think when somebody installs this app on their device, they’ll quickly realize they’re using something very special.”
So how does Pen Pals work? Users can create messages using text, photos, and even audio clips, and their message is automatically routed to another Pen Pals user. Bryan concludes, “Your new Pen Pal might be from your same city or they might be halfway around the globe. Pen Pals gives you the ability to instantly share thoughts, pictures and even audio messages with your new pals to cultivate long-lasting friendships with people from all over the world. After all, who doesn’t want to make new and interesting friends?”
