Follow on Google News | Family Law Attorney Richard Orsinger Earns Award for Year’s Top Continuing Legal Education ArticleRichard R. Orsinger’s “Practicing Family Law in a Depressed Economy” has earned the Franklin Jones Best Continuing Legal Education Article Award for 2009 from the College of the State Bar of Texas.
By: Rhonda Reddick Presented by the College of the State Bar of Texas, the Franklin Jones award is presented annually to the College member who authors the best CLE article of the year. The award is named in honor of College co-founder Franklin Jones Jr. of Marshall, Texas. Mr. Orsinger earned the award for his two-part paper “Practicing Family Law in a Depressed Economy.” The articles were presented during the State Bar of Texas' 35th Annual Advanced Family Law Course. He will receive the Franklin Jones award during the State Bar Summer School in Galveston on July 22-24. Mr. Orsinger has numerous awards and recognition for his CLE work, including the State Bar of Texas Family Law Section’s award for the Best Family Law Continuing Legal Education article in 2008 for “Different Ways to Trace Separate Property.” His commitment to continuing education led him to serve on the State Bar of Texas’ Continuing Legal Education Committee for more than 10 years, including two years as chairman. He received the State Bar of Texas Presidential Citation "for innovative leadership and relentless pursuit of excellence for Continuing Legal Education" in 2001. He also earned the Gene Cavin Award for Excellence in CLE from the State Bar of Texas in 1996.
