April, 2010 Philadelphia, PA – If you grew up in Europe, there's no need to explain. For 54 years, the Eurovision Song Contest has been Europe's favorite TV show. After more than five decades featuring some 1,100 songs, the annual contest is eagerly awaited by all Europeans.
Sherry Kumar, the founder of Philadelphia’
s Eurocircle explains “For years, members have been asking for a way to view the Eurovision contest and celebrate it as a group, but until now we’ve never had the means of viewing the live broadcast.” It took years of planning to finally organize an event locally and find an establishment that can actually accommodate a large European crowd.
“I am pleased to announce that we have partnered with Tir Na Nog, and a handful of local international organizations to bring this broadcast to Philadelphia”
, says Kumar. “Eurocircle will be the host of Eurovision 2010, and the format will be a casual gathering for cocktails, light hors d’oeuvres and of course music”. The event is a great way for local Europeans and expatriates to reminisce, socialize and make a connection, but most of all participate in this legendary European tradition.
The gathering will take place on May 29th at 3pm at Tir Na Nog Irish Bar & Grille in Philadelphia. For event details, please go to:
