Ranging in price from $175,000 to $240,000, four of the five new home sales came from locally based buyers, a positive indicator that local residents are staying put and back in the buyers’ market. Another positive trend is the median price range of more than $200,000, well above Neal’s entry-level price at Forest Creek of $110,000.
Another key indicator of the strengthening market and consumer optimism is that these buyers purchased new, to-be-built homes versus re-sales, even with the available tax incentive for existing home contracts through April 30, 2010, the tax credit expires at the end of April.
“This weekend’s Forest Creek kick-off with five new home sales clearly indicates the kind of momentum and interest in new home sales we’ve been predicting would take place, and one we expect to continue,” said Pat Neal, Owner of Neal Communities.
New home orders came in ranging from 1772 to 2382 sq. ft., demonstrating that homeowners are interested in homes that provide space and some added creature comforts.
