The resort’s exclusive dining venue, CHA, has created a revolutionary menu that features a wide variety of tea blended into the dishes.

The menu in comparison to other Lamai beach hotels (http://kohsamui.langhamplacehotels.com/en/) features unusual combinations such as seared tuna with ponzu oolong sauce, snow fish with rooibos velouté, and lime sorbet with jasmine tea.

Cha is universally understood throughout Asia not only as a word for tea but also as a welcome gesture of hospitality, says Executive Chef James Willemsen. I’ve created a menu that’s inviting, familiar, playful and adventurous at the same time.

The restaurant’s menu is designed to incorporate the use of tea as well as offering tea-matching menus.

Chef James said: “The menus feature an exciting twist to the norm and the use of tea not only adds an interesting twist to the dish but also provides health benefit too”

Tea contains high levels of antioxidants which help to combat certain diseases in the body. Studies have found that tea drinkers have lower blood pressure and can actually lower cholesterol.
