The Windowman Plus Inc, was started in 1993 and incorporated in 1996 by Michael Krause. Krause's background comes from a family line of home improvement contractors and Krause started in the business as a helper/clean up boy back in the mid 1970s on siding and window crews. In 1981 Krause passed the test to become a licensed salesperson working under a family licensed builder contractor specializing in all kinds of residential and commercial remodeling and spent years learning installation as well as the inner workings of the business. By the late 80s Krause had made a name for himself in the Home Improvement Industry and was a highly sought after salesperson respected by his competitors , and building product suppliers. From 1987-1993 Krause went to work as a salesperson/manager for a large window and siding contractor and quickly became the top producer in the company where he learned how to run the entire business , dealing with , advertising, suppliers, building permits, office staff, skilled labor and day to day business operations. In 1992 Krause went to a school specializing in Michigan residential builders law and licenses and passed the State Builders License exam , starting The Windowman in March of 1993 .
