April 24, 2010 - PRLog -- As the 2010 election approaches, the focus is on national elections. However, as most residents know, the greatest voting impact we have is in our own state representative election. This is where we hold our politicians the most accountable.

As the issues of individual state sovereignty emerge, Delaware wants candidates for state representative that will focus not on the political implications of this issue solely for the election cycle, but on the Constitutional issues that will continue to be debated long after a vote is taken. Libertarians have always had the Constitution as the focus of party and government philosophy. For those who are seeking a candidate who will respect individual and state rights, electing Matthew Flebbe to sit in the General Assembly is common sense.
The Libertarian Party may not be as familiar to some as the Democratic or Republican labels normally seen in the election cycle. However, Libertarian values of limited government, Constitutional principles, individual responsibilities, and freedom are values being more openly vocalized recently. These are not new principles to Libertarians, but the basis of the party’s political belief system. Electing Matthew Flebbe, an independent voice to the General Assembly will allow citizens to have a state representative that speaks as the federal and state Constitution intended, on the behalf of the people, not on the behalf of a party establishment.

Delaware, like most states would benefit from a Libertarian perspective. Limited government leads to controlling spending and decreasing taxes. This in turn leads to a better economy, which will lead to increased employment. An emphasis on personal rights and responsibility creates consumers that are more educated and a business environment that has natural rewards and consequences for mistakes and failures. Free market solutions that decrease government control can still regulate consequences and outcomes for those that perform badly in the market, while rewarding those who are positive contributors to the market place. A Libertarian State Representative could be a voice for increasing business and job opportunities in Delaware, while decreasing the role of government in achieving that goal.

The 2010 election is a good year to vote Libertarian in Delaware. It is time to move beyond the old concept of parties and move to an independent option. Send a voice of limited government, responsible spending, and limited taxation to the General Assembly by voting for Matthew Flebbe for State Representative in Delaware.
