Half of iPad Buyers are Windows Users, Why?

PRLog (Press Release) - Apr. 23, 2010 - The iPad is off to a hot start, with Apple claiming to have sold 500,000 units out of the gate and being forced to delay availability internationally due to a shortage.

Chitika raises questions about whether the mix of iPad/Windows households might change with the rollout of the HP Slate tablet and Microsoft's rumored Courier tablet.

As expected, most of those who purchase the iPad are loyal supporters of Apple, in which 62.95% are using Mac OS X.

However the very interesting thing is that the result showed more than half of those iPad users also have a Windows PC, for example, with about 16% running Windows 7, about 1% running Windows 2000, about 15% running Windows Vista, the rest also the most about 20% running Windows XP.


According to Chitika's investigation, only 8.55% of the iPod buyers also have an iPhone. That means a lot of iPhone users are still holding off, but those who don't have an iPhone are more interested on the iPad.
