The security of the US Embassy Bangkok is under threat—from one of its own diplomats

California Author Bases Novel of Intrigue at U.S. Embassy Bangkok During 1980

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Apr 23, 2010 -
Los Angeles, CA (April 23, 2010)— Diplomat Axel Trink’s career is tainted with wrongdoings and an obsession with gaining revenge on his boss Josephine Bateman, who years earlier took advantage of him to jump-start her Foreign Service career. This obsession takes a deadly turn when Trink gets involved with local terrorists and gangsters.

In the novel, US Embassy Bangkok Confidential, Axel’s life and career are already at risk when he falls for a beautiful Thai terrorist and absconds with C-4 explosive and a cache of drugs intended to finance a coup d ‘etat; all in the name of revenge.

Bangkok provides the ideal backdrop for the unraveling of a man who has sworn to protect the American flag—but who instead takes the deadly paths of deceit and wrongdoing.

Doyle Matthews has written two other novels: The Revenge of Axel Trink (Bangkok Books) and Asmara’s Anomaly (Booklocker 2009). He currently spends his time between Los Angeles and Bangkok, the two “City of Angels.” Mr. Matthews’ tenure in the Foreign Service between 1976 and 1981 provided the background material for this story.
