Jim Nowakowski, president of Interline Creative Group, a leading marketing communications agency in Palatine, Illinois, will stress both ‘how’ and ‘what’ designers can do to stay in front of customers and prospects.
“It is important for designers to understand that ‘what’ you put in front of customers is perhaps more important than the act of putting something in front of them,” explains Nowakowski. The webinar is divided into two parts: discovering the value-add of what to put in front of customers, and then the actual tactics to utilize. Tactics include: advertising, public relations, customer service programs and Internet initiatives.
Nowakowski, who presented this topic at the 2010 K/BIS show in Chicago, says that attendees were keen on understanding how to deploy real-life marketing tactics to boost their business—especially during this challenging economy. “We have proven strategies for improving business. Designers naturally prefer to design for their clients than to market themselves, yet it is imperative to spend time building their client base so their design business can succeed,” he says.
