RE/MAX Classic Sponsors Mother's Day Donation Drive for Cell Phones for Soldiers

April 23, 2010 - PRLog -- RE/MAX Classic, a large local area Real Estate brokerage, continues to sponsor the Cell Phones for Soldiers program with a special Mother’s Day event on Saturday, May 8th.   All 4 of their locations in Canton, Farmington Hills, Novi and Milford will be collecting discarded cell phones and accessories for recycling in to calling cards for our troops both in the U.S. and stationed overseas.  They will also be giving out FREE CALLING CARDS to moms with troops in honor of our troops and their mothers for Mother’s Day.  To get your calling card and/or donate a phone, please visit one of our four locations in Novi, Canton, Farmington Hills or Milford from 9AM to 4PM on Saturday, May 8th.  You need not donate a cell phone to receive your free 60-minute calling card.  Just stop in and bring your troop’s information and the calling card is yours.  All donations are tax deductible and we will distribute donation receipts at the event.

Each cell phone donated accounts for an hour of talk time for a troop.  The cell phones need not work to be donated.  The phones are recycled in to talk time for the troops.  “Because of recent deployments, the Cell Phones for Soldiers program currently sends out over 8,200 calling cards per week.  Every donation is needed,” said Carol Boji, Broker/Owner of RE/MAX Classic.

Your cell phone donations will also assist our wounded warriors and provide unlimited phone calls for our soldiers as they pass through select airports throughout the country.

Local troops and veterans are invited to visit with us that day, as well at any of our four offices.  “We would love to have the opportunity for you to visit with our Realtors at RE/MAX Classic and residents of our communities,” said Carol.  “If you are being deployed, come in and get your phone card to stay in touch with your loved ones back home.”
