In the midst of a struggling economy, a local woman is striking a match and opening a new store in East Longmeadow Massachusetts featuring high-quality American Made gel candles.
Several years ago, Anita Allard stopped into a unique little store in the Brick Market Place in Newport, Rhode Island, called Gelissimo. Gelissimo features only American-made products with a primary focus on gel candles. She immediately fell in love with them and knew that one day she was going to open a similar store near her home in Springfield, Massachusetts. That day has finally come.
In early April, Heavenscent Gel Candles celebrated their grand opening in the Heritage Village Shoppes at 33 Harkness Ave, East Longmeadow, MA 01028. Building off the successful model of Gelissimo, Heavenscent will feature a wide variety of gel candles ranging in size from gel tealights that burn 8-10 hours each to larger sizes that will burn more than 250 hours. The gel candles are manufactured by Gellite Candles Corp., located in Mentor, Ohio. In addition, Heavenscent will carry novelty champagne flute, martini and wine candles also by Gellite. To compliment the candles, a selection of hand-crafted artisan soaps, ceramics, totes made from recycled sails and all-natural pet care products will be available.
