(Port Jefferson, NY) — Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue and Adoption Center will once again be hosting its Hounds on the Sound three-kilometer dog walk and adoption event on Sunday, June 13, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in scenic Port Jefferson. This rain-or-shine event is being sponsored by Iams.
Now in its 11th year, Hounds on the Sound will feature dogs and puppies from Save-A-Pet ready to be adopted.
Registration is $30, which includes a free T-shirt and a gift bag. Checks and credit cards are accepted. Those who wish to register online may do so at www.saveapetanimalrescue.org, the Hounds on the Sound Web site in which dog owners and walkers can create their own profile, download the brochure for the event and learn more on how to help Save-A-Pet. The Web site was designed by The Public Relations and Marketing Group (PRMG), LLC.
“This Web site will help raise awareness about the event and the wonderful programs that Save-A-Pet provides for its shelter animals,” said Dori Scofield, President, Save-A-Pet. “Walkers can also create profiles and join a special online community in which they share their love for animals.”
Hounds on the Sound will feature live music, food, vendors, contests, raffles and prizes. Live music will be provided by Act1Entertainment.Net.
Save-A-Pet is also asking participants to raise money through pledges as a way to help the non-profit organization. Those who collect $200 or more in pledges receive a free coffee mug with a picture of you and/or your dog printed on it.
“We urge all pet lovers to join us for this fun and exciting event,” Ms. Scofield said. “What better way is there for people to come together with the pets they love and help us raise funds to rescue more animals?”
