Visitors to Clyne Gardens, one of Swansea’s most beautiful and intriguing green flag parks, are in for a treat this May when the gardens celebrate the annual Clyne in Bloom festival.
From 1 - 31 May Clyne Gardens will be glistening with an array of colour when the collection of plants and trees, including the internationally famous Rhododendrons and Azaleas, are in full bloom.
Visitors can take a guided tour every Wednesday and Saturday, 2pm – 4pm, and experience all Clyne has to offer including the Azalea garden, wild flower meadow, Bog garden and Bluebell wood as well as the tallest recorded Magnolia in Britain.
In addition to the beauty of the gardens there will be a number of wildlife walks, children’s activities and band concerts for all ages to enjoy.
Children can let their imagination run wild at the art workshops and take inspiration from the beautiful natural surroundings or relax and listen to an exciting story alongside the Magical Story Tree taking place every Sunday, 3pm - 5pm.
Alternatively, every Sunday, 3pm – 5pm, music lovers can sit and relax in the tranquillity of the gardens and listen for free to a number of Swansea’s finest brass bands.
With Clyne Gardens also home to a variety of birds and animals every Wednesday, 10am – 12 noon there will be a guided walk to discover which species are resident in the park.
For those interested in horticulture and exotic plants the popular Rare Plant Sale will be taking place on Sunday 16 May, 10am – 5pm. It is a great day out for the whole family and visitors are sure to find something a bit unusual to add to their garden.
