After two years and more than 200 shows, BlogTalk Radio Host Beverly Mahone is saying good-bye to BlogTalk Radio.
The veteran journalist made her debut in January of 2008 with a show called “Whatever!
Among the celebrity guests appearing on her shows were actresses Nancy Cartwright, Debbie Zipp and BernNadette Stanis; actors Michael Winslow and Christopher Stadulis. She also chatted with Satellite Radio Personality Joe Madison, known as The Black Eagle and a number of up and coming baby boomer musicians.
Mahone says, “After spending more than 25 years in the traditional media I needed a break but was glad to find my own voice through BlogTalk Radio. It was actually kind of fun to sit at my computer and not have to worry about how I looked. I could even work in my pajamas if I wanted to!”
Mahone credits social media sites like MySpace, Twitter and Facebook for building her audience base and connecting her with standby co-host Mitch Mitchell. During her two year tenure, more than 10,000 people have listened to one of her shows. “The only regret I have about leaving,” says Mahone, “is I didn’t get my share of the revenue sharing pie.”
Although Mahone is giving up BlogTalk Radio, she is not leaving broadcasting. She has signed on to become host of a new radio talk show on WCOM-FM Radio in Carrboro, NC.
The last show for the veteran journalist on BlogTalk Radio will be Sunday, April 25.
