The Canadian Expat Association has announced that starting April 23rd,2010 it will begin publishing periodic podcasts featuring individual Canadians who are recognized leaders in their communities in various locations around the globe. The goal of the podcast series is give an opportunity for others to hear the voice of the expat community and to learn directly from expats about what they are doing.
“Ever since Canadians began living and working abroad there has been a lack of understanding about the contributions these extraordinary individuals make both in their local communities but also back in Canada.” Says Allan Nichols, president of the Canadian Expat Association. “This opportunity will allow expats to tell their story.”
In the first podcast, accomplished Canadian lawyer, Lisa Tomas, living in London England tells listeners about some of the work that she is doing now and how she plans on transferring the valuable knowledge that she is gaining back to Canada. Lisa is a perfect example of how Canadians abroad build experiences and then bring those skills back to Canada. “Ultimately, all Canadians benefit from knowledge gained abroad by our expats as they help to improve Canadian competitiveness on the global stage.” Mr. Nichols explains.
The podcasts are hosted by Rupinder Nagra, a Canadian actor and Genie nominee for his work as the leading actor in the 2007 critically acclaimed hit “Amal”.
The podcasts can be accessed from the Canadian Expat Association website at http://www.thecanadianexpat.com .
