PLAINVILLE, Conn. – The Universal Lateral Positioner™ System from Innovative Medical Products, a global leader in patient positioning, is ideal for any surgery requiring the patient to be fixed in a stable, lateral decubitus position. The unique three-point securing system offers more positioning options to accommodate a full range of patient anatomies, with 22-inch and 25-inch base plate models. The latter has an additional three inches added to the base plate and one and a half inches to the anterior arms for obese patients. In addition, the positioner provides a reproducible point of reference for primary and revision arthroplasty.
The IMP system includes a removable inferior arm and independently adjustable superior arm that allows more accurate contact with the iliac crest. The superior arm on the 25-inch model adjusts horizontally to accommodate patient girth, while the inferior arm can be removed if necessary. The removable inferior arm puts no pressure on the lower abdomen. The system also provides a patented Hyperflexion Plate that allows up to 120 degrees of flexion during testing for range of motion.
A contour lumbar support, with a latex-free foam pad, conforms to patient anatomy, while improving alignment and pressure distribution during surgery. Unique clip-on dual compression foam pads for the anterior support arms provide unsurpassed performance in preventing skin irritation and eliminate adhesive build up. A storage case, with sturdy casters for easy handling, organizes the components for the OR staff, while protecting the equipment.
