A web-based travel site that features hotels in New York's Wall Street area announced a revamping today, in preparation for increased traffic expected as online bookers make plans for the summer ahead. The time immediately after tax season is one where consumers can feel comfortable about making their plans, having been able to assess their own financial ability to get away. It's also a time when many people decide to treat themselves, after the first quarter of the season is officially over.
"Summer is a great time to be in New York," the site's PR spokesperson said at a meeting before the announcement was made public. "And we've been working toward this for awhile now, looking at our customers' needs and wants. It's not only that we can offer such a selection of hotels, but we're also paying attention so that we can really deliver the accommodations they want, and ones that can fit their price range."
While there are always plenty of reasons for business travelers to get to New York, it's not always easy to drive vacation traffic. Even in a city that is famous for attracting visitors, it can be a challenge.
"The good news here is that the city is doing half the work for us," the spokesperson said. "There's a lot of exciting things going on in town, and people who may not have been here in awhile will find that it's returning to its origins in terms of entertainment and attractions. That's an exciting thing to see."
