Antellus Reissues Destiny's Forge

The private independent publisher has revamped and reissued the science fiction/vampire novel Destiny's Forge by Theresa M. Moore in an updated 3rd edition, on sale now.

Destiny's Forge is the first book in the SF/vampire series Children of The Dragon, a chronicle of the Xosan, living vampires from the planet Antellus who were once human but were transformed by a dragon's blood. They are stories of science fiction, fact and fantasy, myth and history, tragedy and triumph; linked together by the theme of the vampire as hero. The book is based on short stories written from 1988 to 1995 and its first edition was begun in 2003. It was published under the imprint Ikthalion Press in 2006. In 2007, it was revised and published in a new edition. The current edition has been updated for technology and a new cover design was created. The overall look and content is edgier and more precise. It has been published ISBN-free in print on demand and also three formats of ebook versions under the imprint Antellus. At 340 pages the list price is $18.95, down from $23.99 for the previous edition of the same length. The ebooks are available now and a free ebook is offered with the purchase of the print book.

"This marks the beginning of a very exciting period for us," said author and CEO Theresa M. Moore. "It means that we can now offer books for a more affordable price because we do not have the added costs of an ISBN and outside distribution, and we can reach a more diverse readership by selling directly online instead of approaching brick and mortar booksellers." She cited numerous attempts to reach brick and mortar stores with little success, since many relied solely on ISBNs for their catalog numbers. The distribution of the books with the numbers saw little to no difference in sales, and most booksellers were not willing to accept books without them. "Since the ISBNs are not a legal requirement to produce a book or ebook, we have decided they are superfluous; and by publishing and selling the books and ebooks online, we are able to cut out the middle men responsible for most of the added cost of sales," she said.

Antellus offers its books in print, Adobe PDF, ePub and Kindle formats for direct purchase on its web site, Amazon, Lulu and Scribd. Antellus is a privately owned independent publisher of science fantasy adventure and nonfiction books on a variety of related topics like history, mythology and science. Requests for information may be made by email to: info (at) antellus.com. The publisher is located in Sherman Oaks, California.
