Angels for Autism leases space at Regency Centers’ Plaza Rio Vista shopping center

April 22, 2010 - PRLog -- Cathedral City, CA – Regency Centers (www.regencycenters.com), a national owner, operator and developer of grocery-anchored and community shopping centers, has leased 1,950 square feet of space to Angels for Autism at Plaza Rio Vista shopping center, Vista Chino and Landau Blvd. in Cathedral City, Ca. The business is owned by local residents LaVeda and Dean Moore who are parents with an autistic son and who will specialize in the retail sales of therapeutic products and clothing for children with special needs. The store will stock and special order merchandise and offer educational programs for parents, behavioral and speech therapists, and special education teachers. The business is scheduled to open in April 2010 which is Autism Society of America’s National Autism Month.

According to Omar Hussein, Regency Centers’ leasing agent, the new store will be the nation’s first specialty retail location designed for children with autism, cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Asperger syndrome and other developmental challenges. “We are pleased to welcome Angels for Autism to our shopping center. The store will provide a unique service and products for families and professionals who care for children with specialized needs in medical and home care, and education,” Hussein said.

Plaza Rio Vista is a 67,619 square foot shopping center and anchored by a 44,700 square foot Stater Bros. market. Additional business including Starbucks, Subway and a variety of retail and service businesses. Plaza Rio Vista was developed by Regency Centers and partner MDI West in 2007 to serve shoppers in the Vista Chino corridor between Cathedral City and Palm Springs.
