Accountants and auditors across Canada working with private businesses are learning the new accounting rules to be ready for the 2011 transition.
PE GAAP is the set of Canadian accounting standards that has been developed for private enterprises. Private companies in Canada have the choice to adopt IFRS or the PE GAAP.
The training courses are one day long and earn 8 hours of PD for CAs, CGAs, CMAs and CFAs.
As the standards were only released in December 2009, many private companies are not even aware they are affected by these standards. This is a big learning curve for many.
