On-line Presence Proves A Piece Of Cake For Boutique Baking Duo

April 22, 2010 - PRLog -- Best pals Lynn Hopkins and Sandra Longdon, based in Measham, Derbyshire, approached FDC on the strength of a recommendation from another satisfied FDC client.

The pair decided to start their specialist business, Poppys Cakes – providing hand-made cupcakes for special occasions – after Sandra was complimented on her baking skills by work colleagues.

After making a few well-received batches for a local hotel last Christmas, Lynn and Sandra decided to turn their mutual hobby into a part-time business. They knew the quickest way to drum up business could be achieved on-line, so they turned to FDC for advice and an eye-catching, original web design.

Office manager and registrar Sandra, said: “We wanted to make people’s special days even more special with home-made cakes, not shop-bought, mass-produced stuff.

“After meeting the FDC team – and plying them with our cakes – we knew they would be responsive to our ideas. They seemed to know instinctively the look and feel we wanted to create, coming up with a fresh, creative concept for us in just a couple of days.

Lynn, who works as a PA at a local agricultural machinery specialist, added: “We love the idea of being able to check on project progress daily through FDC’s on-line project management system.”

FDC sales executive Gregg Randall said of FDC’s latest project: “Sandra and Lynn have a great business there with huge potential – and their cakes are delicious! It’s a great project for us to take on because it’s unusual.
