CARLISLE, PA – On April 22nd, people around the world will be celebrating the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. To mark the milestone, more than a billion people in 190 countries will be taking action to protect the most valuable resource everyone shares. While millions will do their part by planting trees, joining rallies for change, and walking to work, MenuDrive is encouraging restaurants to use less paper.
According to CleanAir.org, American businesses use about 21 million tons of paper each year. That’s approximately 175 pounds of paper for each American. In honor of Earth Day, MenuDrive (http://www.menudrive.com) wants restaurant owners to look at the green, paper-free benefits of having their menus digital.
MenuDrive gives restaurants the ability to post their menus online and allow customers to order from it. The process is simple. Customers log on to the site, place their order, and enter their delivery and secure credit card information. Orders are then sent to the store electronically and received within 10 seconds. Workers prepare the order as usual and once it is complete, customers are on their way – no paper involved.
“Our software is designed to make things easier for customers and restaurant owners,” Adrian Fang, MenuDrive creator, said. “The added benefit of MenuDrive is that the system helps cut down on the paper waste associated with printing and distributing menus.”
Earth Day 2010 is a reminder to everyone that some of the simplest changes can greatly impact the earth. The goal this year is for individuals, corporations and governments to join together and make the world cleaner, greener and more sustainable.
“MenuDrive is just one of many combined efforts that can help lead to a greener global solution,” Fang said.
