April 21, 2010 - PRLog -- Singer-Songwriter Kasim Sulton will be returning to Café Carpe for an acoustic solo guitar and piano show on Sunday, May 15, 2010.  Tickets are $15 and are on sale now at www.cafecarpe.com.  

Kasim Sulton last played in Ft. Atkinson at Café Carpe in February of 2002 on his “Have Guitar, Will Travel Tour".  He is excited to be returning to this charming venue for another performance. This upcoming tour is to promote his 5th solo album to be released later this year.  Catch this show and be among the first of Kasim’s fans to hear a sampling of his newest music LIVE!  Kasim puts on a fantastic show complete with great stories and playful conversations with the crowd.

In addition, Sulton has played and sang on over 120 albums since starting his professional career in 1974. He is credited with writing and singing Utopia's only top 30 hit, "Set Me Free."  


In his solo career, Sulton has released 4 albums of his own material starting with the self-titled debut album, Kasim in (1982), followed by a collaborative album with fellow Blackheart Thommy Price titled, Lights On (1986) from which the song "No TV No Phone” was featured in the 1987 film The Allnighter, starring Susanna Hoffs. This offering was followed by The Basement Tapes (1993), Quid Pro Quo (2002), All Sides (2007) and the DVD, Kasim Sulton - Live in Atlanta (2008).  

What's in the works for the rest of 2010? Sulton is currently writing new material for an upcoming solo album. He takes to the road in April with Rundgren to perform material from Rundgren's forthcoming album of songs by legendary bluesman Robert Johnson on an 18-city tour. The month of May sees Sulton out for a two-week stint of solo dates, while much of the summer will be spent in the studio.  

New York has always been home to singer/songwriter Kasim Sulton. He was born in Brooklyn and moved to Staten Island at the age of six where he still lives today.
