PRLog (Press Release) - Apr 20, 2010 -
At present, Guizhou tourism is slightly affected by drought. All attractions in Guizhou Province are normally opened to tourists. Reporter learned that new tour packages were designed to attract more tourists.

It was once reported that water flow in Huangguoshu Waterfall (http://www.chinatouronline.com/china-travel/guiyang/guiya...) had greatly reduced. However, the staff in Huangguoshu Scenic Area said, “In order to ensure water for life of the local people, we don’t completely open the sluice gate of reservoirs in the upper reaches of Huangguoshu Waterfall, so the water flow reduced. Nevertheless, the drought doesn’t impact on other attractions in Huangguoshu Scenic Area.” Recently thousands of tourists from Shandong and Shaanxi provinces visited the scenic spots. It is reported that tens of thousands of foreign tourists came to Guizhou for enjoying the beauty of plum, azaleas and rape flowers in this spring.

More than ten flower tourism festivals such as Peach Blossom Festival and Rape Flowers Festival have been held this spring and attracted a lot of visitors. Focusing on activities related with flowers and folk culture, the local tour agencies designed the flower tour packages which made the tourist off-season prosperous. These spring tour packages reflect the concept of leisure travel. “The number of tourists to enjoy the flowers and folk culture obviously increased in this spring.” said Zhou Houneng, manager of a local tour agency.

It is reported that large-scale tourist groups to Guizhou Province (http://www.chinatouronline.com/china-travel/guizhou-provi...) have greatly increased this spring. The rate of tourists from Shandong, Guangzhou, Tianjin and Suzhou has increased by 10 percent in comparison with the same period last year.
