Alastair Campbell to be guest speaker at Institute of Internal Communication awards

April 20, 2010 - PRLog -- Former Government communications chief Alastair Campbell is to be guest speaker at the new Institute of Internal Communication’s first awards evening on 18th June.

The high-profile adviser will be sharing insights from his 10 years at the heart of Government as Tony Blair’s right-hand man at the new-look event – now a stand-alone evening split away from the national conference.

CiB’s events director Suzanne Peck says: “No other Downing Street adviser has ever had a reputation like Alastair Campbell – as Tony Blair’s director of communications and strategy until he resigned in 2003, he was really in the thick of it at an historic time.

“He’s also a passionate communicator – an inveterate tweeter, he has a blog and a vlog (video blog) and has gathered almost 5,000 friends on Facebook. We’re delighted that Alastair will be our guest at the new Institute’s first awards dinner. It should be a memorable occasion all round.”

The awards ceremony at the London Hilton Park Lane Hotel will be the new Institute’s first major event following CiB’s official change of name and status in May.

The awards cover all aspects of internal communication and reflect the growing complexity and rapid change in the work of professional communicators.
