Dr. Beverly Kaye Receives Distinguished Contribution to Workplace Learning and Performance Award

American Society for Training & Development (ASTD) will be honoring Dr. Beverly Kaye from Career Systems International with this year's Distinguished Contribution to Workplace Learning and Performance Award.

April 20, 2010 - PRLog -- Dr. Beverly Kaye, Founder and CEO of Career Systems International, has been named this year’s recipient of the Distinguished Contribution to Workplace Learning and Performance Award by ASTD (American Society for Training & Development). “It is truly fitting that you receive this award,” shared Tony Bingham, the President and CEO of ASTD.  “You have been a pioneer in providing ways for individuals to take charge of their careers and systems and strategies for managers for developing and keeping their people. With the current war for talent, organizations that recognize talent and provide career support will be stronger and more effective – and your work helps them do this.”

Bev is being recognized for her groundbreaking body of work and the significant impact she has had on learning and performance in the workplace.  As a candidate for this prestigious award, she was evaluated on her original concepts and innovative practices recognized throughout the field; the impact and influence on practitioners, organizations, thought leaders, and research; and the extent to which her contribution affirms that people are value-added contributors to organizational success.

“I’ve always believed in individuals taking control of their own careers, workplace satisfaction and their own lives,” explains Bev.  “Today’s constant change makes it more important than ever for employees to take charge.  Our newest learning solution, CareerPower3.0™, is all about that – helping workers thrive in the 21st century as they become self powered careerists™. Neither employees, nor organizations, can afford to sit back and wait for someone to make it happen – change is coming too quickly to wait.”

For more than thirty years, Dr. Kaye has devoted her career to innovation and has been a pioneer in the areas of career development and employee engagement.  In fact, she wrote on both subjects:  Up Is Not The Only Way, the practitioners’ bible on career development, and co-authored Love ‘Em or Lose ‘Em: Getting Good People to Stay, the Wall Street Journal best-selling book on the managers’ role in retaining and engaging their people and Love It Don’t Leave It: 26 Ways to Get What You Want at Work with Sharon Jordan-Evans.

Her firm, Career Systems International, has worked with most of the Fortune 500 corporations and she continues to invent, create and design systems and strategies that change lives and change companies…for the better.

Dr. Kaye will be recognized during an awards ceremony at the ASTD International Conference and Exposition (http://www.astdconference.org/) on May 17, 2010 at The Drake Hotel in Chicago. She will also be a featured presenter on Developing Careers for Evolving Workplaces: Engaging the Kept-On Workforce.

She joins previous award recipients Malcolm Knowles, Roger Mager, Peter Senge, Geary Rummler, Jim and Dana Robinson, Gloria Gery, Roger Schank, Allison Rossett, Meg Wheatly, David Cooperrider, Roger Kaufman, Jack Phillips, Jon Katzenbach, Robert Vrikerhoff, Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner as one of the world’s Distinguished Contributor to Workplace Learning and Performance.
