Woman Uses 40th Birthday Party as a Benefit for Creative Growth Art Center

April 19, 2010 - PRLog -- Alameda- April 19, 2010- Tara Evans, a resident of Alameda, CA, will be turning 40 at the end of May. She will be using the event to raise funds for the Creative Growth Art Center…and has decided to invite the world!

Ms. Evans said, “I have been fan of the center for many years and have collected a few works from the artists. The pieces are fabulous and I love the environment the center has created. I could have just had a big birthday party but really wanted to use those efforts to do something good.”

Ms. Evans will be hosting a dessert and art fest including performances from local groups and an ‘art store’ with donated works from artists and craftspeople from around the United States. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Creative Growth Art Center.

The Westin St. Francis, Union Square, San Francisco, and the Andiron Seaside Inn and Cabins, Little River, CA, near Medocino, have donated stays at their facilities as raffle prizes.

There will be a smorgasbord of yummy desserts donated by various restaurants and bakeries. Additional yummy dessert donations by attendees are more than welcome. If you are in the mood, bring something yummy to share!

The Creative Growth Art Center serves adult artists with developmental, mental and physical disabilities, providing a stimulating environment for artistic instruction, gallery promotion and personal expression. Artwork fostered in this unique environment is included in prominent collections and museums worldwide.

The benefit will take place at the Rhythmix Cultural Works, 2513 Blanding Avenue, Alameda, CA, on Saturday, May 29th, from 7-10 p.m. A $10 donation is collected at the door and includes one raffle ticket.
