Our Survival Stories and Steve Candelaria report that a 33 year old Oregon man has survived suicide attempt. The 33 year old Portland man, who has remained unidentified, went to eh emergency room complaining of a severe headache. The next day when doctors were going over x-rays they noticed the man had 12 nails (some up to 2 inches long) embedded in his skull. 6 of of the 12 nails were between his right ear and right eye. 2 more of the nails were behind his right ear and the other 4 were on left side of his head.
The man reportedly told emergency room doctors that he had an accident with a nail gun before coming forward and revealing it was a failed suicide attemppt.
The nails were removed using a drill and special pliers. The surgical procedure went fine and there are no long term injuries expected to occur from this incident. The man was later transferred to a psychiatric care center.
