Bally Chohan update – Flight ban extended till Monday

Bally Chohan says that still there is no relief for millions of stranded passengers as most of the airports throughout Europe remains shut for today also. Flight services are expected to resume by Monday evening.

As per media reports present air traffic disruption is greater than that compared to the one after 9/11. Moreover volcanic activity is not showing any signs of easing out.  Meanwhile some international airlines have already started to carry out test flights to make sure that now it’s safe to fly.  Netherland based KLM is one of the airlines that has sent one of its plane, a Boeing 737 on test flight. As per KLM the flight touched maximum operating altitude of 13 kilometer in the skies over Netherland and there has been no problems reported as such. Engineers inspected aircraft and its engine after the flight and found no problems as such.  KLM is hoping that airline will get permission to fly again once the inspection of aircraft is done.

Another airline to test skies is Germany based Lufthansa Airlines. Lufthansa Airlines has flown several planes from Munich to Frankfurt without any problem whatsoever. A spokesperson from Lufthansa told media persons that all airplanes were inspected once they arrive at Frankfurt and till date they have not found any damage cockpit windows and all engines are in perfect condition.

Light winds and high pressure over Europe is making things worse.

European countries have either closed their airspace of have closed down airports for commercial traffic. This is widely believed that volcanic ash – a mixture of glass, sand and rock particles can seriously damage aircraft engines.

Bally Chohan says that commuters all over Europe are using alternative transport such as trains, buses and ferries to reach destination. The Europe rail service Eurostar has never witnessed such a huge rush. As per media reports all trains are fully booked until Monday.

US President Barack Obama has already cancelled his proposed visit to Poland to attend funeral of Polish President. Funeral of Polish President is slated to held on Sunday.
