Featured in the Toronto Star’s Desi section for the follow up to their 2009 release titled "Zzen I", the Band is highly influential in the Pakistani scene of North America. Incorporating both English and Pakistani lyrics in their music. Zzen boasts an eight week run atop Internet charts on Pakmusic, a site dedicated to covering the Pakistani music scene. The only Pakistani Rock band to be featured live on The Edge, and Indie-Love Radio, Zzen has played some of the largest venues across Toronto including Nathan Philips Square, The Hershey Center, The Revival, Reverb, and Kook Haus.
“Zzen's music is very vast and encompasses a diverse range of the sonic spectrum. Listening to any one track is like considering one aspect of the many complexities that surround the simple existence of any person,” they said.
Indulging in every genre of music, their album offers listeners a fresh and worldly form of Progressive Rock that is both raw in its delivery and uncompromising in its creativity. Recorded in Urdu, Pakistan using a mix of home and professional studios, the album deviates from the polished, overcorrected feel of many Rock and Pop albums. Currently working on the highly anticipated follow up to Zzen I, the Band hopes to book larger venues in the Toronto area and across North America in order to bring their unique sound to a larger demographic.
Largely confined to Pakistani mediums due to a language barrier in North America, Zzen hopes to establish a connection with listeners around the world by giving them a fresh sound backed by a strong message.
Zzen I is currently available on Itunes, Real, Rhapsody, Amazon, Mp3, and other online retailers. For more information on upcoming tour dates and the progress of their second album, check out their website at http://www.myspace.com/
