Hot Air Balloons and Bungee Jumping Set to Sky Over Conejo Valley Days

April 16, 2010 - PRLog -- THOUSAND OAKS, CALIF.--They'll be a lot of looking up during the 54th Annual Conejo Valley Days, April 28 through May 2. Hot air balloons and bungee jumping will be part of the variety of attractions at the five-day festival at Conejo Creek Park South (23 Freeway/Janss Rd. exit) in Thousand Oaks.

   A ReMax hot air balloon will be visible to early morning commuters on the 23 Freeway from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 on April 28, 29 and 30. A long banner hanging from the balloon with "Conejo Valley Days" will announce the festival's arrival. "ReMax has donated the use of its balloon and we're very grateful," says Frank Akrey, CVD president. "It's a great way to get the word out about CVD."

   Farmers Insurance will be providing its own hot air balloon and offer tethered balloon rides beginning at dusk during all five festival days. The cost of a ride is $5 per person. Proceeds go to the Thousand Oaks High School Cheer Booster s. "The aerial view should be fantastic," says Mary Catherine McBride, CVD concession chairperson. "People should bring their cameras and take plenty of pictures."

   For the more adventuresome, bungee jumping is coming to CVD for the first time and be available on all five days.

   CVD will also feature a giant slide, spider climb, dunk tank and carnival rides for all ages. Over 50 vendors will display their wares. A full food court will offer lunch and dinner items as well as traditional carnival food including kettle corn, funnel cake and dip and dots.

    CVD hours are Wednesday and Thursday, April 28 and 29 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, April 30, 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Saturday, May 1, noon to midnight and Sunday, May 2, noon to 6:00 p.m. No alcohol will be served on Wednesday and Thursday.
