An accomplished Yale School of Music and New England Conservatory of Music graduate, Sharon Ruchman’s musical talents and composition capabilities were selected by the National Composers Association to be performed during the November 14, 2009 “Music Under the Redwoods” concert in Portola, California. A former music teacher with the West Haven, Connecticut elementary school, Ms. Ruchman graduated with her Master of Music (MM) degree from the Yale School of Music, and earned her Bachelor of Music (BM) degree at the New England Conservatory of Music.

Brief, 10 second intervals of Sharon Ruchman’s 18 original compositions on “Sharon Ruchman Chamber Music” featuring “Sea Glass” can be heard on her website, www.sharonruchman.com. Orders for the CD can be placed on the site, and her CD will be available for purchase after the April 20th performance at The Federation in Southbury.
During the April 20th concert, Ms. Ruchman will share the stage with accomplished cellist, Mary Costanza, who is one of the performers on the new “Sharon Ruchman Chamber Music” CD. The concert will be held at The Jewish Federation of Communities located at 444 Main Street North in Southbury. Suggested donations for the “Love and Knishes” lunch program are $7.50 for adults 60 and older, $9.50 for attendees younger than age 60. The program is open to adults, and features a luncheon that begins at 12:00 noon.
