Marine Corps Tribute Bike Bio:
by Larry Tremblay, Sr.

I shall never forget that day in April of 2005 when two Marines came to my home to inform me of the death of my beloved son Joey in Iraq.  During the two to three months that followed Joey's death an idea formed in my mind to build a tribute to Joey that would make him proud and that everyone who saw it would always remember Joey and all the other young men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

It is in this vein that the Marine (Tribute-Memorial) Bike was started.  The Marine Bike was built for one, dedicated to a few and in honor of all who have fallen defending our great nation.  My son Joey and I used to spend time together watching Jesse James on the Discovery Channel and the Biker Build Offs.  We both enjoyed and admired the skill and talent it took to build a motorcycle that I thought would be a great monument to the son I so loved and miss.

American Veterans Aid Fund (AVAF), a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization, was established to assist veterans and their families in obtaining and maintaining the respect, dignity, and honor earned through their service and sacrifice. AVAF has a relationship with veterans, their families, and veteran organizations based upon mutual regard and shared visions for a better tomorrow as well as common interests and values.

What defines our character as veterans is the bond formed through our military service and that bond follows us into civilian life. It is because of this special connection that we are sensitive to the reality that other veterans may not be as fortunate as ourselves and therefore may need assistance beyond what government funds and programs are available or can provide.

At AVAF, we recognize that this is an unprecedented time in the history of veterans in the United States. A rapidly aging veteran population from World War II and Korea presents unique challenges today, especially in terms of medical and housing (assisted living) needs.

Combat does not end when one leaves the battlefield. From Vietnam to the Iraq, Agent Orange to Depleted Uranium Munitions, our veterans and their families are facing some of the greatest battles of their lives and support is needed now more than ever before.

VETUNES ® is the music division of the American Veterans Aid Fund.

It is the mission of VETUNES ® to Rock for our US-UK Veterans, Active Duty, and Their Families!

The inspiration for the creation of VETUNES ® is Legendary Musician Mr. Simon Kirke (FREE & BAD CO) who has earned the love and respect of our Veterans here in the United States and in The United Kingdom not only through his music but Mr. Kirke has shown our Brothers/Sisters-in-Arms nothing but the highest love and greatest respect.

To Simon Kirke WE say....Semper Fi and Airborne!
