April 15, 2010 - PRLog -- The UK Parliament passed the Bribery Bill on Thursday, April 8, 2010, signifing the first major overhaul of the country's bribery laws for over a century.

The Bribery Bill is a significant departure for the UK in the area of foreign anti-corruption. It is considerably stronger than the FCPA. Many internationally focused US companies have offices in the UK or employ UK citizens in their worldwide operations. This new legislation could expose them to prosecution in the UK under a law similar to the relevant US legislation.

The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) is one of the bodies responsible for initiating prosecutions under the new Act. We are therefore pleased to announce, Robert Amaee, Head of Domain at the UK Serious Fraud Office, as a key speaker at our forthcoming 4th FCPA & Anti-Corruption Compliance Conference. Robert will provide insight on the key provisions of the bill as well as how the Serious Fraud Office will be enforcing and prosecuting organizations for non-compliance. In additional, he will talk about the impact this bill will have on organizations operating in the UK.

Join Robert and other distinguished speakers from leading regulatory government bodies and organizations at our 4th FCPA & Anti-Corruption Compliance Conference and gain the latest strategies and tools to protect your organization and minimize your risk of non-compliance.
