Beautiful and rich musical arrangements are accompanied by soulful vocals. This helps Forever Forward’s sound to be incredibly powerful. Strong in it's message and peaceful in its approach, the New York band has positively influenced the lives of many listeners that have attended their live shows. Band members Kevin Brightman and Derek Gibbs are both classically trained musicians who have offered their experience to give Forever Forward their beautiful and modern sound.
Coming together after being employed independently in NYC church choir directors, vocalist Gibbs and pianist Brightman came together to compare and contrast styles. In 1996, the two teamed up to work together at a church in Harlem as co-directors of an inspirational Gospel choir. The directors began teaching their choir songs by various gospel greats including the Reverend Timothy Wright, Walter Hawkins, Kirk Franklin, and Richard Smallwood; artists that Forever Forward draws much of their experience from.
A year later, the team would serve as co-directors of music at the Creative Light Spiritual Center in Manhattan which gave them the opportunity to write and arrange their own songs. This was the groundwork for what would be the creation of Forever Forward and the "All Is Well" project.
"What sets Forever Forward apart from other groups is that we have successfully blended multiple music genres and created our own sound by utilizing talents of each member of the ensemble. Each individual is as capable as the next in their vocal and instrumental abilities,” they said.
The album was recorded in a home and professional studio using Protools and Case Logic. After the release of the album, the band began playing arrangements at churches, conventions, and their own concerts. Their
spiritual theme has touched many listeners and they believe that the sky is the limit as far as what they can accomplish.
