April 14, 2010 - PRLog -- While Autism ASK, LLC may be new, the owners have a lot of history in the autism community.  Co-owner Stephanie Harlan shares, “Our collective 25 years of experience in the roles of parent, volunteer and professional, led to the formation of Autism ASK. We serve through resource provision, direct service, and autism awareness materials.  Waterford is the center of the county and a great location for many of our services.  Our business model, though, is to really get out and serve throughout Southeast Michigan.” Harlan is Director of Clinical Services.  Co-owner Beth Kimmel, Director of Educational Services, adds, “We are passionate about collaborating with individuals, families, autism spectrum professionals and the community at large.”

April is Autism Awareness Month and Autism ASK aims to increase awareness across the community.

Kimmel says, “Our agency came about through ongoing conversations of two seasoned veterans wanting to increase available services to individuals and families while fostering a tighter sense of community amongst the many worthy organizations that already exist with a mission for autism spectrum disorders (ASD).  Stephanie and I share a philosophy of the importance of knowing the systems and knowing how to advocate for what is needed; the real path to independence for anyone is knowing what support you need and the having knowledge of options that keep the doors open…. Advocacy, Support and Knowledge… those are the pillars of the ASK in our endeavor.”
