April 14, 2010 - PRLog -- The Dr. Piper Center for Social Services, Inc. announces that it has selected three top administrative professionals to be recognized at their 7th Annual Administrative Professionals Luncheon, Auction and Fashion show. The guest speaker will be Dr. David Kelley and local celebrities, professionals and volunteers will model spring fashions. All proceeds will benefit local senior citizens and youth through the organization’s programming. Admin Day will be held at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre in Fort Myers from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2010.

The week of April 18-24, 2010 is Administrative Professionals Week. This annual event was originally organized in 1952 as "National Secretaries Week" by the National Secretaries Association (now known as the International Association of Administrative Professionals). It was established as an effort to recognize secretaries for their contributions in the workplace, and to attract people to secretarial/administrative careers. Since 2004, the Dr. Piper Center has honored office workers by sponsoring the Annual Administrative Professional Luncheon and Fashion Show.

Three 2010 Outstanding Administrative Professionals will be recognized for demonstrating their high-quality contributions to their agencies through implementation of new ideas and programs, volunteerism, excellent customer service, and exemplary commitment to quality and core values of their agencies.

Dr. David Kelley is a licensed therapist, specializing in relationship therapy and human relations training (http://www.davidgkelley.net). He has spent much of his professional career since 1978 working through the Institute of Government at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, the Institute of Government at the University of South Florida in Tampa, and the Institute of Government at Florida State University in Tallahassee. His Admin Day presentation will focus on “The Positive Power of Humor.”

Dilliard’s is providing the spring fashions to be modeled by local celebrities and volunteers, including Fox 4 Anchor Amy Sedlacek; Executive Director of the Southwest Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Veronica Culbertson; Roger Mercado, the director of allocations and community planning at the United Way of Lee, Hendry and Glades; Karina L. Borgia, an administrator with Borgia Law and American Real Title; Shanice Nicholas-Warner, a student at Island Coast High School; and professional volunteers Nicole Williams and Pete Ippolito.
