April 14, 2010 - PRLog -- ‘Help For Heroes’ supports wounded servicemen and women returning from Afghanistan and Iraq. Its current focus is to create a series of Regional Recovery Houses, which will be built across the UK and serve as the last stage rehabilitation before a serviceman, or woman, returns to their unit or moves back into civilian life.

Latimer Hinks will also donate money to St Teresa’s Hospice in Darlington, as well several smaller local charities.

St Teresa’s provides high quality medical, nursing and social support to patients and offers respite and support for carers.

Clients, professional contacts and friends of Latimer Hinks have been invited to attend the Black Tie May Ball to be held on May 21st at Wynyard Hall. A four course meal will be provided followed by a charity auction, tombola, raffle, dancing, with music from the party band Huge, which has a repertoire ranging from disco to reggae, rock to soul to jazz.

A number of prizes have already been donated including champagne, jewellery, spa day membership and several rounds of golf.

HSBC has also kindly pledged to match £1 for £1 up to £1,500.

Anne Elliott, Partner at Latimer Hinks said: “We are thrilled by the support we have received for our Charity Ball – we are more or less “sold out”, which is fantastic news.

“You cannot fail to be impressed by the courage and bravery of the armed forces and we feel that all that the “Help For Heroes” charity does must be fully supported.

“The Ball will also raise money for St Teresa’s Hospice, (so much part of the Darlington community), and some smaller less well known local charities who do so much good in our town and local area.”

David Morgan, from Help For Heroes, said:” We really appreciate any donations made to our organisation and are extremely grateful to everyone at Latimer Hinks Solicitors who has been involved in organising the ball. We hope they raise as much as they can and are grateful they have chosen our charity to support this year.

“Help for Heroes aims to provide care and support for servicemen and women in rehabilitation and beyond, making sure they receive the very best facilities and treatment in order to recover from their injuries and rebuild their lives.”
Jane Bradshaw, Chief Executive of St Teresa’s Hospice in Darlington, said: “We really appreciate this latest kind support from Latimer Hinks.  The firm always puts on a spectacular event, which everybody thoroughly enjoys, and we are delighted that they have chosen our cause to benefit.
