The portable MP3 player is capable of playing more music in a smaller package than any of its predecessors ever could have imagined. An MP3 player is compact, versatile and some are capable of storing thousands of songs. The MP3 player also presents many more options than the portable CD player or Walkman ever did, so choosing the right MP3 player for you takes some consideration.

Step 1:Set your budget. There are many prices for MP3 players, ranging anywhere from the price of a portable CD player to hundreds of dollars. The higher the storage capacity for an MP3 player means the higher the price. Brand name MP3 players such as iPods will also be more expensive.

Step 2:Choose the type of storage for your MP3 player. The two major types are hard drive MP3 players and flash memory players. Hard drive players have a hard drive built in that often allows more storage space, but they may be larger and they have moving mechanical parts, which means they can be prone to skipping. Flash memory MP3 players usually have less storage capacity, but are more compact and are likely to be cheaper.

Step 3:Pick the highest storage capacity for the type of MP3 player you want that fits your budget. A good general rule for MP3s is that one megabyte will hold about one minute of music. That means each song will be around three or four megabytes, so a 512 megabyte MP3 player will hold around 140 songs and a 10 gigabyte MP3 player can hold around 2900 songs.

Step 4:Check the file compatibility of an MP3 player. You can obviously expect to play MP3s, but see if it can play AAC files, WMA files or other file types.

Step 5:Consider in what kinds of situations you are going to use the MP3 player. If you are using it for travel, you can probably get a bulkier hard drive based MP3 player, but if you are going to be something like exercising with it where it will be jostled around more you may want to opt for a smaller, flash player that will be more durable.

Step 6:Make sure your know how the power for your MP3 player works. Some MP3 players have built-in, rechargeable batteries while others have replaceable batteries.

Step 7:Try it out before you buy it so you can see if the user interface works for you. You will be dealing with the user interface a lot so be sure you can easily navigate to find your songs, make playlists, randomize your music and do anything else you may want with your songs.

Following these steps, you would find the best right MP3 player. For more options ,you can consider to choose it from:http://www.sourcinggate.com/mp3-player-c-15.html
