Point Bearing Corporation is pleased to announce that York Freund has joined the firm as President and Chief Executive Officer. Freund has extensive experience in health care services, insurance and technology management. Freund’s record of bringing rapid growth and profitability to both small and large companies, in addition to his management consulting experience with Booz & Company and other major consulting companies will enable him to lead an executive team to launch this new company. Freund said “I am excited to be leading a team of extraordinary senior executives. New regulations such as the HITECH Act are creating a need for technology that can positively authenticate an individual’s identity. Point Bearing’s existing technology is a proven solution to meet these needs.”
Simultaneously, the company also announced the appointment of David Mooney as Executive Vice President, Strategy and Marketing where he will lead development of the corporate business and product strategy. Prior to joining Point Bearing Mooney led the team that developed the electronic purse used throughout the U.S. Navy and the identity card system for New York City employees. Mooney has a broad technical, security, smart token (biometrics, smart cards, etc.), marketing and operations background. His experience Includes building companies, designing, developing, branding, and launching new products successfully;
Point Bearing also announced the appointment of John French as Executive Vice President, Technology, where he will lead product and technology development. French's background and relationships bring the latest innovation in software application and robust smart card access and portable records management and monitoring GPS sensor security development. French has developed a number of strategic relationships with industry leading companies that offer platform and hardware technology solutions. He developed Smart Health Profiles, Smart Driver’s Licensing, Digital Citation Issuance & Vehicle Registration, and Smart Sentinel Sensors – a smart card and micro-sensor enabled secured identification and records management framework. French will leverage his extensive background in developing Microsoft .NET web portal SAAS applications and mobile smart media products to develop cutting-edge smart card and software applications.
