Lets go through the most common types of ladder:
Step ladders for indoors
A stepladder or stepstool is great to have around the home which will allow you to reach up to around 15 feet. We also do a range of more heavy duty step ladders for tradesmen who need a reliable step ladder on the van. Our Abru range of stepladders are well worth looking at for these needs.
Extension ladders for outdoors
For jobs over 15 feet, or jobs outdoors, an extension ladder is usually the best choice. Reaching roofs or high trees are the usual purpose for this type of ladder. We stock both aluminium and fibreglass ladders, which will be covered in detail later in this article.
Combination ladders - the best of both worlds
Combination ladders can be manipulated into a range of positions and heights, allowing for use in awkward spaces such as in decorating or reaching porch roofs etc. Essentially combining a step ladder and an extension ladder.
Other types of ladders
We also stock a range of specialist ladders for jobs big and small such as loft ladders, surveyors ladders, telescopic ladders and more...
Materials of ladders
Aluminium has always been the classic format for a ladder as it's hardwearing, durable, long lasting and light. If working with electrics (such as telecoms engineers) you should not use an aluminium ladder.
Fibreglass is a recent introduction to the world of ladders. This brings the benefits of aluminium but importantly doesn’t conduct electricity. These ladders can also be exposed to high temperatures without worry, and don’t crack and splinter like old wooden ladders.
