Cook for your Mother this Mother’s Day at The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur

While cooking up something special in the kitchen, the guest’s mother will be experiencing a relaxing massage in the award-winning Spa Village Kuala Lumpur.

The Ritz-Carlton Mother’s Day Experience starts at 6.00pm when mother and children part ways. The sons and daughters make their way to the César’s open ‘theatre’ kitchen to start an hour-long cooking class, and the mothers make their way up to the lush Spa Village to relax and be pampered for an hour-long massage. From a menu that includes starters, mains and desserts, Chef Firdaous and his team will spend the next 60 minutes explaining and teaching their ‘students’ how to make a beautifully made, gourmet dessert – de trio , profiteroles, soufflé, demi froid – three delicate dishes, each requiring different skills and techniques to perfect. The sons and daughters will then put into practice what they have learnt and make their own under the careful and knowledgeable stewardship of the chef, finally serving their creation to their own mothers later on that evening. However, the chefs are not there to simply instruct but to teach. Students will learn how to identify the perfect Dover Sole (a main course), what kind of foods go with truffles, the delicate techniques of making soufflé and many more nuggets of culinary advice.

Meanwhile, up in the quiet, relaxing surroundings of Spa Village the mother will be feeling the long kneading strokes of the Malay Massage, a traditional treatment passed through the generations that will leave the guest feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and glowing – ready to be served a gourmet meal prepared by her own son or daughter. Upon leaving, the students can take away a special Ritz-Carlton apron and chef’s hat and present their mothers with a gift box of individually made cupcakes.
