Golf and Hypnosis – the Fairways and Greens are Calling

Todd Stofka, Philly Hypnosis Sports Psychology, comments on golf and how the fairways and greens call us to play. That is until we forget to put our mind into the game.

-Lee Trevino, describing how he was one under during a tournament
As we celebrate the coming of spring when all things seem new again, we begin to hear distant calling of the fairways and greens.  The excitement and the exhilaration set in as the Masters begin play in Augusta.  So it must be time for us to grab our shoes, pack our bag and head for the course.
Ah Spring!  The smells, the sights, the breeze on our faces, and the unmistakable sounds of play make us breathe a little faster and our hearts skip a beat or two.  It’s great to get back to the game we love so much!  The sound of the club as it slices through the crisp air… the “smack” when it makes contact with the small round object of our desire on the tee.  Then we stand in awe and watch as it glides with ease though the blue skies.
As our ball drops back to earth, we hear it… the one sound like no other...  the rustling crunch of leaves and twigs as we rifle about in the rough trying to locate the little white turncoat that has just crushed our spirit and ruined our day.
Where did it all go so wrong?  We have all the right equipment, the clubs, the shoes, the gloves.  Everything is good right down to the little towel hanging there.  So what happened?
Simple.  We let our mind get so wrapped up in the fervor and excitement of the idea of the game, we forgot to put our mind IN to the game.  We left our focus and concentration behind.  Two of the most important tools, and we left them out of play.
You teed up, hit the ball, and hoped for the best.  When in fact, what you should have done was make the choice, on the spot, to relax, clear your mind, and focus on your game.

With applied techniques such as NLP (neuro linguistic programming), hypnosis, positive affirmations, or visualization it can be your choice as to what the outcome of your golf game will be.  You can be in control.  Not of the weather or the course conditions or the people around you, but of yourself.

NLP and hypnosis techniques will allow you to overcome your self-limiting beliefs and focus on being a better you, a better golfer.  You can redefine what direction you want your golf game to take.  Once you begin to overcome those limitations, your game will improve and you score will begin to drop.

When you tee up, stop for just a moment.

•     Take a few deep breaths
•     Feel your body relaxing
•     Visualize the outcome of your swing
•     Feel the confidence within yourself
•     Know and believe that you will play well

I can show you how to effectively use these techniques and more to improve your game and your score.  I can provide you with guidance and a strategy that will improve certain areas of your golf game or help you improve your overall performance.  Call me today at Philly Hypnosis, 1-877-557-7409, for your free consultation.
