Twice the space, Twice the copiers
Falcon Copiers New Warehouse
Up until March, the business had made do with a 175sqm warehouse unit, which combined with a number of smaller offices. This was a perfectly adequate arrangement and more than met the needs of Falcon’s large existing customer base. However, it did mean slightly limited access to the offices in the same building and the company obviously wasn’t able to capitalise on the potential that a larger warehouse could offer.
The new unit is almost double the size of the one it’s replacing, at a substantial, 330sqm. For optimum efficiency, the space has been ‘purpose modified’ and is fully equipped with a dynamic fitted storage system. This means all stock is now much easier for staff to locate and access and cuts down on the time it takes expediting customer shipments. The larger space also means more room for stock, so even larger items, such as light production photocopiers http://www.falcondocumentmanagement.co.uk/
Economies of scale
A huge advantage of a larger warehouse is economies of scale. Keeping bigger stocks and buying more, gives Falcon great negotiating power with its main suppliers. And this enables the company to pass on significant savings to Falcon Document Management customers.
Richard Guttfield, Managing Director of Falcon Document Management, is delighted with the new warehouse facility;
"We’re all really pleased to have the new warehouse up-and-running. Falcon has been experiencing unusually high demand during the recent recession and we feel that investing in infrastructure to enhance our customer offering should really build the business going forward. The new warehouse is already cutting our lead-times and is helping us pass on savings to our customers."
