Award-Winning Boston Teen Band ONE STEP AWAY Steps Up to Performances with National Touring Bands

Award winning teen rock band One Step Away is playing with national touring bands during Six Flags Stride®-A-Palooza and the "Play it Forward" benefit this month. They have been called "The Next Big Thing."
 
April 9, 2010 - PRLog -- Emerging young Boston band One Step Away continues to earn accolades in 2010.  Last January, One Step Away was shown playing in the season finals of the TV Talent Showcase: Community Auditions, earning themselves that position by winning four consecutive episodes of the show early in 2009.    In March, they became a Music On & Up Showcase winner.  Joyce Kulhawik, Entertainment Reporter stated:   "You've got it all. Your songs are great. Your vocals are great. You are a very tight band...You are charismatic and you have just cracker-jack energy. You really telegraph great positive everything."  

These accolades are earning them spots playing with national, signed and touring bands. On April 21st One Step Away  is performing at Six Flags New England in their Spring Break Stride®-a-Palooza show.   One Step Away will be appearing on stage with Young & Divine (RCA), Bamboo Shoots (Epic) and Brian Jarvis.  The bands will start performing at 11am.  One Step Away will close the show with a performance at 2:45pm.

On April 24, One Step Away is performing with Apollo Sunshine at the “Play it Forward” benefit concert being held at the Collins Center in Andover, MA.    Apollo Sunshine is an alternative rock band that has appeared on   MTV and in the pages of Rolling Stone Magazine.  Tickets are  $15 for adults and $10 for students will proceeds benefiting the Rotary Club Scholarship programs throughout the greater Lawrence area.  

One Step Away began in 2006, growing to become the young phenom they are today. They are no stranger to the stage and music industry with performances at major venues like Foxwoods MGM Grand, Boston City Hall Plaza, radio and on several New England TV stations like WBZ, WSBK and RI Fox TV.   The band is known for its rare ability to deliver engaging and dynamic shows while maintaining their musical precision and smooth powerful vocals .  Barry Nolan, Emmy Award winning television journalist and commentator, stated this about One Step Away:  "You bring the sense of joy and fun to rock and roll which is what it deserves to have."  

Members of One Step Away include: Adam Carrington of Andover MA (Lead Vocals, age 17), Terence Healy of Wilmington MA (Lead Guitar, age 17), Mike Nuzzolo of Andover MA (Bass/Vocals, age 17) and Ben Trudeau of Beverly MA (Drums, age 15). These teens balance their active music careers with school sports, community service activities, jobs and honor-roll academics at Andover High School, St. John’s Prep and Pingree School.
