Pedestrian guard rail floral planters have been installed along North Street, George Street and Hailsham High Street, as part of an initiative by the Hailsham In Bloom team to brighten and tidy up the town centre area and nearby church grounds.

Additional improvements to be carried out in the town centre later this year include the creation of a Gournay-en-Bray twinning floral feature near the High Street war memorial, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of the signing of the Twinning Charter between Hailsham and its twin town.

Councillor Jeff Bentley-Astor, deputy town mayor and chairman of Hailsham In Bloom said, “Taking pride in the town centre’s appearance is something which comes naturally to people in Hailsham and what better way to act on that by installing additional flower planters which can be enjoyed by residents and visitors to the town.”

“Thanks must go to the Hailsham In Bloom team for bringing about this new enhancement, and town council works staff for maintaining the town centre’s flower fountains, hanging baskets and raised flower beds to such a high standard.”
