Steal Breaker Group Takes Page from Derbyshire Police Force

Steal Breaker Group, LLC doesn't try to reinvent the wheel when it comes to loss prevention, they borrow a page from their neighbors across the pond.

April 8, 2010 - PRLog -- The success of life-size cutout police officers to stop crime a few years back in Derbyshire, England has spurred Steal Breaker Group, LLC to take a page out of their English counterpart’s play book.

The scheme was hailed a success by police in Derbyshire.  It was previously reported that thefts from stores in one area apparently dropped from an average of 36 a month to just one a month, officers stated.

Steal Breaker Group, LLC plans to build on this momentum here in the states.

According to information and statistics provided by the National Association for Shoplifting Prevention (NASP), approximately 25 percent of shoplifters are kids.  In addition, shoplifting is often not a premeditated crime. 72 percent of juvenile shoplifters don't plan to steal in advance.

To deter the “impulse” shoplifter, Steal Breaker Group, LLC designed a cut-out display featuring a caricature enactment of an undercover loss prevention agent nabbing a would-be shoplifter in the “act”.  This powerful display reminds any would-be shoplifter to think twice before stealing.

"Our crime stoppers are very eye catching and project a stern message, while still showing a lighter side of the store,” states Lisa Chin, Founder of Steal Breaker Group, LLC.  “Every retail business can use more signs to discourage the average shoplifter from that 'impulse' theft.”

Steal Breaker Group, LLC offers products and services to combat shoplifters.  For further information, contact Lisa Chin at 310-521-0383 or email info@stealbreaker.com
