When you return home after a vacation or trip away, you are tired and just want to kick off your shoes and relax, but when you open the door, you are greeted by a stagnant & damp air smell.  

What would you normally do...
One traditional method to solve this problem is to buy and connect a conventional electrical dehumidifier, but this method uses electricity and will cost you money, providing you have an uninterrupted supply of power, each time you leave it operating.  Free standing electrical dehumidifiers can be subject to breakdown, freezing or electric failure.  

Now is the time to consider a virtually 'Free Air' Solution...
The NEW Solar Air Heater and Dehumidifier that relies totally on solar power, so it can't fail like the electrical alternatives. It is not connected to the grid, therefore it is used as a supplementary and not a primary source of heating.  It is designed to be mounted vertically on a wall, not roof and can easily be self- fitted, except when it is installed with a log cabin.  Dunster House's Solar Air Heater and Dehumidifier does not recycle existing stale air, it always introduces fresh air from the outside, distributing temperatures as high as 64C.

The Standard Solar Air Heater MK2 payback can be in as little as 24 months, and is suitable for small commercial applications, village halls, school halls, large homes etc. It also reduces the risk of radon contamination for you and your family through the positive pressure ventilation that ensures the constant changing of air in your home.

The smaller Compact Standard unit operates at approximately 65% of the Standard Solar Air Heater heat generation and is suitable for smaller applications such as canal boats or small static homes. The normal function as a warm air dehumidifier still functions during the winter months.

How it Works...The Solar Air Heater and Dehumidifier unit uses solar radiation energy to power the 'Solar Air Collector', a fan that draws external fresh air over an aluminium sheet incorporating a special solar radiation absorbing coating. This pre-warmed air provides a "Positive Pressure Ventilation" system that is used to assist in warming a property and acts as a dehumidifier by forcing warmed air from the property through any number of air leakage areas.

Trialled and Tested...
Prototypes of the Standard MK2 Solar Air Heater unit have been extensively trialled and tested at Dunster House's Bedford Factory over the last 2 years and have achieved results of warming external air of 5 degrees Celsius up to 35 Degrees Celsius at the inlet point with a fan speed, during reasonably sunny weather, of 140CFM (cubic feet per minute). On one of the warmer days in the UK, 19 August 2009, they observed a result from the outside air temperature of 32 Degrees Celsius and an input air temperature of 64 Degrees Celsius from an Irradiation level of 1200W/m2, this equates to approximately 1.8Kw/h for the Standard MK2 unit.

Health benefits... The Solar Air Collector provides fresh air all year round almost eliminating
condensation.  Due to reduced moisture in your home, dust mites are much less likely to survive.  Also mould spores associated with bronchial conditions are less likely to be sustained and allowed to develop, alleviating health problems and thus helps people to breathe, bathe, cook and wash clothes.

LOW ENERGY LIGHTING SYSTEM USING A SOLAR 12 VOLT DC SYSTEM
Dunster House's new 12v DV Solar Lighting system using PV panels can last around 20-30 years, plus you do not pay for electricity generated by the sun. Within the range, there are 3, 4 or 5 bulb configurations using special 12v DC low energy CFL bulbs. Additional bulbs, holders and cable can be purchased to provide your home with back-up or primary off-grid lighting. Bulbs are 12v DC Edison screw not bayonet. The battery (not supplied) is constantly pre charged during solar hours and can provide many hours of light. There is nothing worse than not having light available at night, particularly when connected to an external power grid.

It is ideal for substituting your current lighting, ideal uses include a night light for a landing, an internal home security light,  emergency lighting when the Mains fail due to storms for e.g, or off grid lighting on cabins, canal boats, pavilions, boats, sheds, garages, disaster shelters, inexpensive home lighting for emerging countries or Armed Forces. The battery powered systems (battery not supplied) can also be used to provide 12v DC power to a range of low voltage products such as, kettle, mobile phone, hair dryers, cool box, refrigerator, etc.

The 'Low Energy Lighting System' can be utilised by either the Dunster House Commercial Solar Air Heater & Dehumidifier Combi MK3 (45 Watt panel) or the Solar Energy Power Heater MK4 (60 Watt power). Alternatively it can also be used as a Standalone Kit (60 Watt).

Carry on life as normal...
There is nothing worse than a blackout and promise of "normal service will be restored as soon as possible" from your energy supplier.  Some strategically placed low voltage bulbs can provide sufficient light to carry on life as normal for a reasonable amount of hours. No need to use a noisy standby generator to power your lights and shouldn't run out of fuel to power the generator.
