April 7, 2010 - PRLog -- PARSIPPANY, NJ - April 9, 2010 – Once again, the phenomenon known as XTremBol is coming to Morris County!  The XTremBol III Street Soccer Tournament will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the Central Park of Morris County on the former Greystone Park campus in Parsippany. Starting at 9:00am through 6:00pm, ten teams from the Tri-state area will compete to be named the best street soccer team in the area.

XTremBol features four person teams playing fast-action street soccer in a 45-by-75 foot cage on a concrete or asphalt surface.  Games are played with a low-bounce ball that is much smaller and heavier than your average soccer ball, and small goals.  There are no goalies and the games are played non-stop.

Street soccer has been quietly growing in the United States over the past several years and has a loyal base of supporters.   In 2008, XTremBol I was held at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.   Last September, XTremBol Productions moved the games to the rinks of the new Central Park of Morris County and held XTremBol II.  Now on April 24th, the XTremBol II winners, Master Railing, will be defending their title as the area’s top street soccer team in XTremBol III.

Throughout Europe and Latin America pick-up games of soccer have been played on the streets for years. Children, teens and adults play each and every day.  Those who play street soccer develop a certain elasticity, but most of all, they develop a certain culture around the game that transforms it into an enduring passion.

“We are promoting a livelier kind of soccer.  It’s physical.  It’s a lot of everything.  It’s soccer.  It’s fun,” explains Andres Torres, president of XTremBol Production. “Millions of American adults today remember the good old days of sand lot baseball, pick-up basketball and neighborhood football games where the kids set the mood, culture and rules.  XTremBol is no different.  It’s an effort to promote a sport that people love and foster and indelible culture around it.”
